How You Can Help

Since 2022, the Brigham family has faced one hardship after another, never quite getting the chance to catch their breath or rebuild a stable foundation.

Most recently, a serious injury has left Dezra unable to care for their eight children in the way she normally would, and her husband, Zacchaeus, has had to step away from much of his regular work in order to care for her and keep the household functioning.

This has placed an enormous strain on the family. They are currently waiting on surgeries and do not yet know exactly what Dezra’s recovery will look like. Recovery could take anywhere up to six months, and at this point they are unsure how long it may be before she is even able to be up and around on crutches again afterward. There may also be a strict regimen of physical therapy required as part of her healing.

At the same time, the family is facing serious transportation difficulties. Both of their vehicles are in need of repair: the truck Zacchaeus uses for his livelihood, and the family’s 12-passenger van, which will also need repairs very soon. Because Dezra’s appointments are about two hours away, they have had to rent or borrow a vehicle each time they travel, out of concern that the van could break down far from home and create towing and repair costs they simply could not afford.

The Brigham family is in a difficult in-between season: needing help to get through the immediate crisis while also longing for a more stable future where they are not repeatedly forced into asking for assistance. Zacchaeus is a skilled arborist and hardworking provider, and the family’s hope is not only to make it through this current medical hardship, but also to strengthen and grow their family business so they can become more financially secure going forward.

For now, the Brigham family is humbly receiving help during this vulnerable season. Support given during this time would help meet practical needs while Dezra continues toward surgery and recovery, Zacchaeus continues caring for the family, their vehicles receive needed repairs, and they work toward rebuilding stability for their household and their business.
